NM PET CT - TUMOR SKULL BASE-THIGH (78815) 7/3/2024 1:00 PM HISTORY: This a 29-year old male for evaluation of the anterior mediastinal mass. PROCEDURE: While in a fasting state, 9 mCi F-18 Fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) was injected IV in the right arm. PET and co-registered non-contrast CT images were acquired sequentially of the whole body. Blood glucose is 104 mg/dL. Total DLP is 534 mGycm. PET/CT FINDINGS: Head/neck: No abnormal focal FDG activity identified in the head or neck. Paranasal sinuses and mastoid air cells are clear. No enlarged cervical lymph nodes. Chest: Moderate uptake noted in the 3.6 cm anterior mediastinal soft tissue density (SUV 3.2). No enlarged mediastinal or axillary lymph nodes. Lungs clear. Gynecomastia. Abdomen/pelvis: No abnormal focal FDG activity identified in the abdomen or pelvis. Normal gastrointestinal and renal collecting system activity noted. The unopacified abdominal organs are normal within noncontrast limitations. Bladder wall is thickened. There is a small amount of pelvic free fluid. Musculoskeletal: Diffuse skeletal FDG uptake. IMPRESSION: Moderate uptake noted in the anterior mediastinal soft tissue density, presumably corresponding to given history of thymoma, however shares common imaging features with normal thymus. Pelvic free fluid. DICTATED: Gentry, David I Reviewed Images Personally and Agree With Interpretation, as currently edited. Electronically SIGNED / Radiologist Gentry, David on 7/3/2024 2:25 PM
